A day full of meetings on Friday means that it's time to rock a fabulous look as we close positive things for Kitten Lounge, Style Tweetup, Mani Week and Shoe Week. As the Editor in Chief, it's amazing the number of things that I'm running to do in the midst of all the other things! SO when you have to looks uber fashionable and brave the elements this is my favorite look Black and Tan!

When it's raining a trench coat is expected but what about a shearling trench coat from Burberry paired with simple leggings from Topshop. Since it's all about the meetings, my iPad must be accessorized in a studded Christian Louboutin ipad case. To finish this look, rock Hari Jewels fabulous Cabochan cocktail ring with this Nixon watch and of course, Charlotte Olympia with these suede and leather ankle boots.

Although we're thinking about getting gifted around the Kitten Lounge Loft (Happy Christmas Eve to everyone and those celebrating other winter holidays, enjoy them without a doubt), I have to say that my mind around this time of year goes to the beginning fashion tradeshows that kick off my fashion calendar as well as such events as Sundance Film Festival. It's going to be an amazing 2012 of travel and although some of us will have to deal with pesky outerwear, there is no reason to reduce how cute we can look as snowbunnies (regardless of how mild the weather may appear to be in NYC or other locales). First off, I am obsessed with a new outerwear find to me, Hawke Co. courtesy of TJ Maxx. This season, I will enjoy wearing a number of my tapered coats and capes; however, with images of people skiing last winter on Park Ave, I knew I needed a coat that was puffy, long, had a hood and would be super warm! This definitely fit the bill! Last winter I received these exact Sorel boots known as Cate the Great which are an awesome grey which works well with my grey coat (which also comes in black and brown). These boots are perfect when it is snowing, when you're walking through slush and I love the furry detailing and the fact that they come up high.

Although I want to be warm, I know that it is essential that I'm still cute as I will be heading to the airport for warmer climates, running around the city and more and you can't skimp on the cute factor. Pair this look with Hotel Particulier's Fox Fur hat which is so cute and cozy. Ralph Lauren keeps your hands warm and accessible to grab your phone with these fingerless gloves that have fab cable detail on the outside. Of course, exposed fingers allow for fabulous cocktail rings to grace your finger including this one by JLRicci which is made of smoky quartz. Finally, it's always about the bag and I'm loving Furla's shearling camel hobo bag which is easy and yet makes a fab statement no matter where you are off too!

Last night, Paul and I wandered the Village after a round table and made our way to a super yummie Thai restaurant! I love the fall when the weather is just beginning to turn and you get giddy wearing a number of outerwear options and layers. In honor of this, I created a fun his and her leather/shearling spread! I'm OBSESSED over his style which rocks YSL's coat which is in a fab charcoal color which always looks phenomenal. Paired with the perfect distressed jeans by D and fun shoes, he's ready to be out and about looking amazing! Cap it off with a fab pair of fingerless gloves by UGG and a super cute beanie cap to wrap up the rest michael kors outlet of the look. A quick pop into Forever 21 can provide a number of colors that are perfect to finish the look.

When she steps out, Karl Donoghue's jacket takes the aviator look to another level by combining this fab sleek look and popping shearling in to complete the look. NY Fashion Week F/W 2011: Wearable Wednesdays Rachel Roy

By far, when I think Rachel Roy for fall, I think about her amazing outerwear. I'm obsessed with shearling, fur and all of the fun elements that add a little pop to your winter wear and once again, she didn't disappoint. I love that both looks represented here are perfect for brunch, going out to dinner or wherever the day takes you. They beg to be layered, paired with booties and amazing fingerless, long sleeve, cashmere gloves. I would definitely love to rock both of these looks at this very moment!

NY Fashion Week F/W 2011: Swoonfest Saturdays Rebecca Minkoff

So far the show that has given me goosebumps and swoonfests from start to finish would be Rebecca Minkoff! You know that I am a fan of her accessories (I've been working from my iPad this Fashion Week and of course it is protected by her Python Black case with gold beading and I love my matching coin purse) and when she added apparel and shoes, I was definitely all over her boho chic sensibilities as well! Yesterday I tweeted throughout the show talking about all the looks that I loved with shades of grey, green, black, cream and of course fur and amazing outerwear. Now I have to say that the ones above are my favorite look. Guaranteed, you'll see me in this shearling with fab cigarette michael kors outlet store pants (which is what she focused on a lot with this collection) and I love that as dark as this dress is, it's see through phenom!

What do I love most about this time of year? Beyond the fact that today is Christmas (Merry Christmas to everyone as we're only a few days away from the end of the year), it's about updating and pushing the www.forbesmelchior.com fashion envelope. Our outwear takes on a new role as we are seen more in this gear then anything else. I find myself wearing amazing coats, shoes, etc as I pop in and out of showrooms and I can wear something very simply but I would rather people see how amazing certain coats, sunglasses, purses and boots look. In addition, with all the traveling coming up for HSN appearances, brand discussions with design topics and spokeswork no matter how fab the temps will be I will still have to board a plane out of NYC to get there!

Last week after coming back from an amazing night of drinks, I looked up at one of my favorite sites the Swarovski Crystal ornament that hangs on 5th Ave by Trump Towers. As an Accessories Expert, seeing one of my favorite materials being used as one of the holiday's biggest symbols always gets me in the spirit of things. Last night, Rockefeller Center came alive with the official lighting of the tree! So whether you're into it or not, we are firmly in the Holiday Season as of now (can't wait to see Saks do their holiday presentation which is one of my favorite things as well). So now that the temperatures are only days from falling and it's the first day of December, it's all about rocking that look of trekking through the city. I am a huge fan of shearling and love love this jacket which is decadent and not bulky! Typically, you'll wear your outerwear more than anything else so it is important to invest in this piece. Paired over a pair of jeans it creates a great relaxed look. With the season being full of black, grey, caramel etc for footwear it's about time to add some color and John Varvatos' work boot has that red that's not over the top! Make the look complete with a simple plaid shirt and you're set!

I am super excited to get this week started. This has been a busy weekend and of course this week there are a number of fab things going on. Details will come soon but know that it's phenomenal.
